I'm Riding For

Matt Trasatti

Matt Trasatti

My brother just passed late last year due to a multi-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma and I think its tasteful to dedicate this ride to him. however, I must also acknowledge the impact that cancer has had on my family. My niece and nephew both fought leukemia, thankfully to remission. My mother conquered late stage colon cancer when I was young and it changed the trajectory of the household. Several of my family members have battled breast cancer and we can all be thankful for relatively positive outcomes. There are several acquaintances my workplace that have had both positive and negative outcomes over the years. new treatments are developed every day, and so many of us are affected that it would behoove us to make some effort to make these treatments avalaible to everyone in need and to push to fund research into rare and unpopular diseases.

My Story

13 Aug 2025

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer.

Im pledging to give my free time in September to riding my bike and actively fund raising through the month.

Cancer has affected my family, for that matter childhood cancer has affected my family. As a parent, chronic sickness is one of my biggest fears.

According to the GCC: "Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it."

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

well i just dont enjoy asking people for money, but i do every year. its never fun when it goes poorly but this year has gone great and is lining up to be my best year so far! 1908 dollars raised through my page so far, you guys are great.

i just wish we coyld do more, the avg cost of cancer ranges from 1000 to 1 million dollars annually for a patient given insurance coverage and cancer type.

    food for thought i guess.

we'll ive had some sort of virus since about the beginning of the ride. It's been going around work, what amounted to a summer cold. but on my lovely wifes insistence, i took a few days off and rode today and feel 1000 times better. got 25 miles in today and felt fine at the end, thought i was just getting old as i was exhausted after 15-20 miles, having trouble finishing. but apparently i was just sick.
