This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Although the riding does not begin until September, my fundraising goal begins today!!! This is year #5 of participating in the Great Cycle Challenge. For those of you in the know, this event has taken on a new meaning for me. No parent, family member, friend, guardian, etc. ever wants to answer the phone and hear, "Mom, they say I have cancer." Does not matter if that call comes from an 18yr old, he is still a child! God has blessed us with positive results, but way too many are not as fortunate.

Each year in the U.S. there are an estimated 15,780 children between the ages of birth and 19 years of age who are diagnosed with cancer. Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday. Globally there are more than 300,000 children diagnosed with cancer each year.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
