My Story
Cancer sucks. Cancer that affects children sucks harder. So this September I'm at it again by participating in the 2023 Great Cycle Challenge.
I hope to raise awareness and, hopefully, money for better treatments and maybe, one day, a cure for childhood cancer.
Last year, I beat my goal of 225 miles by 6 miles. That averaged 7.8 miles a day and roughly 2-1/2 trips from Dumas to Amarillo and back. On a bike. In 30 days.
This year, my goal is 300 miles. That averages 10 miles a day and a little over 3 trips from Dumas to Amarillo and back. I’m not going to lie: I’m nervous. But I’m alive. And I may be old and (still) chubby but I’m healthy enough to try. There are a lot of kids out there who aren’t and who may never have the chance.
Funds raised here help these kids and help the Children's Cancer Research Fund to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve. You can follow my stats to cheer me on (or laugh at my epic fail.)
Thank you and God Bless!
