This September I'm riding in my 8th year for Children's Cancer Reasearch in the Great Cycle Challenge!

Why? There are a number of reasons. 1) Because I fully believe in the proven results of medical research and treatment, particularly ... 2) Because right now cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week ..... in the US alone! KIDS SHOULD BE PLAYING AND LOVING LIFE...NOT FIGHTING FOR IT!

3) For all my friends and family members who had extended life and/or are still living the life due to new treatments and care particularly in cancer research. and 4) I'll have one less rider on my team this year, my daughter, whose recent diagnosis is resulting in medical treatments and probably a little time off from cycling.

I know for a fact the previous research has aided my daughter in detection and diagnosis and treatment and will continue to do so as she moves to full recovery!

So I am riding to raise research funds, not so much for my son or daughter, but maybe for yours, or our grandchildren, and all the millions and millions of kids we may never know. Do we really have to know them? They're just KIDS!

My goal is to raise $5000.00. I'm going to try and bike 500 miles in September, older, bad knees, arthritis...may require I finish in October, so I am asking you to make a one time pledge. It's easy and secure! I'd love to surpass my goal so give til it hurts while helping to stop these children from hurting.
