Kate
This is Kate….. She is 10 years old….. When she was 3 years old Kate was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. She had a 9 centimeters by 9 centimeters mass in her abdomen along with cancer in her liver, femur, tibia, and spine. Kate went through 5 rounds of chemo, tumor resection, high-dose chemo stem cell transplant, radiation, and immunotherapy. After a year and a half of fighting, she was declared cancer free! She then started a clinical trial called DFMO that is given to prevent relapse. Sadly, it didn't work. Kate was recently diagnosed with relapsed neuroblastoma. She has recently started new rounds of chemo and antibody therapy. She continues to amaze everyone with her strong faith and love of life! Please pray for Kate and her family that Kate wins her second battle with cancer!
My Story
This September, Kathy I are taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So, we are raising funds through our challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
