I'm Riding For
Willy Griffin

This is year 3 I will be riding for Willy. Willy will officially complete treatment for childhood leukemia this fall. After countless appointments, medications, hospital stays, blood transfusions (the last one two weeks ago), platelet transfusions, blood clots, allergic reactions, chemo holds and so many more ups and downs, it's hard to believe that we are here. He was diagnosed in 6th grade and will be a Freshman this fall. His parents worry now about him finding his “new normal". They worry about the late effects all the chemotherapy will have on his growing body. They worry about his friendships, as he has spent all of middle school in treatment. They worry about his future adult relationships - will he be able to have kids. They worry the most about relapse. Will is the grandson of of our neighbors and good friends Jane and Andy Carponelli. This years ride is personal.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
This year I am once again riding for Travis “Will” Griffin, who will be celebrating his 14th birthday this month.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
