My Story
For the past eight years, I've been participating in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer and have enjoyed every time I've done it. It is not only very helpful but I've met so many amazing people and heard so many touching stories.
I will continue to do this event every year. Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year.
I can imagine the pain and hardship that these kids and their parents go through daily.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation and/or ride with me to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
I appreciate your support

This year’s challenge
4 Aug 2026This year, my Great Cycle Challenge journey means more to me than ever before.
For the first time, I’m taking on this challenge as a retiree. After many years of balancing work, family, and life’s responsibilities, I’ve been given the incredible gift of time. Time to ride farther, ride more often, and give my whole heart to a cause that has become deeply personal to me. My hope is not only to surpass my mileage goal but also to exceed my fundraising goal, because every dollar raised brings hope to children bravely fighting cancer and to the families who stand beside them.
When I first joined the Great Cycle Challenge, I thought I was simply signing up for a cycling event. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It has become a journey of compassion, purpose, and community. Each year has reminded me that even the smallest effort can make a meaningful difference when we come together. I’ve grown as a cyclist, but even more importantly, I’ve grown as a person. The friendships I’ve made, the stories I’ve heard, and the lives we’ve touched have made this one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. It is something I truly treasure, and I am grateful to be part of this incredible movement.
As I begin this new chapter, I’m asking for your support once again. Whether it’s a donation, sharing my fundraiser, or simply cheering me on from afar, you become part of this mission to give kids with cancer the brighter future they deserve.
I’d also love to hear your ideas! What are some creative ways I can raise even more money this year? I want to make this my biggest and most impactful Great Cycle Challenge yet, and I’d love for you to be part of that journey.
Together, let’s prove that every mile ridden, every dollar donated, and every act of kindness can change a child’s life. Thank you for believing in this mission and for riding alongside me, every step of the way.
