I'm Riding For

Xander Brayfield

Xander is my son. One of my favorite nicknames of his is Worldcup, given to him by a family friend. During a practice soccer game amongst 8 year old's that involved heated arguments over fouls, he chimed in "Come on guys, its not the World Cup". That sums up his attitude for many challenges, even cancer....focused, perspective, even keeled and perseverance. He battled hard through through treatment from May 2019 till December 2022, including many rounds of chemo, surgery, a stem cell transplant, radiation, immunotherapy and a cancer vaccine trial. He persevered. He will no doubt use these same qualities for his next challenges. Keep fighting hard Worldcup and all other children battling through cancer. We have your back!

My Story

10 Sep 2024

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This is my 4th year doing this challenge and I love it! Please consider a donation to this wonderful cause! Find more info about me, my son's cancer journey and this great foundation on my page!

Cancer sucks! Plain and simple. Funding and awareness for childhood cancer is needed. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

My son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in May 2019 and he is currently continuing longterm care at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He has been free of detectable disease for over 4 years now. We had excellent care at OU and Helen deVos Children's Hospital as well as advanced treatment through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. We are blessed and fortunate for the care and opportunities we have. I am raising funds in this challenge to help kids and their families through The Children's Cancer Research Fund. Through sponsors and donations, this will allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments for childhood cancer, help continuing care post cancer and bridging gaps in care inequality.

Please support me and my team by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Thank you.
