I'm Riding For
Virginia, Wally and Maggie
The picture I have posted today is of my mom Virginia, her brother Wally (middle) and sister Maggie (right). All of them died from cancer (pancreatic, prostate & ovarian). Although I am riding for the kids, this is just a reminder of the ways in which it effects each and every one of us. I will continue posting updates daily. Please donate whatever you can, $2, $5, $10, $20. Anything helps. I know you all have someone you have cared for whose life was forever changed by cancer.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Like many of you, I have experienced the suffering, grief and loss brought on by this disease. It happens far too often. And, when it strikes children, it is especially hard to see them suffer.
