This September, I'm pedaling forward in the Great Cycle Challenge to combat childhood cancer, the leading disease killer of children in the United States.

At 63, I'm a proud grandfather to nine wonderful grandchildren and blessed with four amazing children and a devoted wife. My family is my heart, and it's for them—and every child battling cancer—that I ride. Each year, over 15,700 children are diagnosed with cancer, and tragically, 38 young lives are lost each week. These kids should be exploring and enjoying life, not fighting to survive it.

By participating in this challenge, I aim to raise funds that will enable the Children's Cancer Research Fund to persist in their crucial work. Their efforts in developing lifesaving treatments and pushing toward a cure are vital.

Last year on my ride, I had just crossed 400 Miles when a Careless Clueless Driver ran me off the road. I crashed and tore 3 of my Rotator cuff muscles. I had it fixed and and recovering. Im ready to ride now.
