I'm Riding For
Former students - cancer survivors
I’m cycling in honor of Hunter Burkhalter who is battling stage 4 metastatic osteosarcoma. He’s only 12 and in 7th grade. I was his school counselor for 6 years - he is one of the most compassionate young men I have had the pleasure to know. He is always upbeat and smiling despite his new challenges ❤️😇😇
My Story
September 2025
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
I am cycling for Hunter, who is a 7th grader who does not let any challenge slow him down. He has been battling cancer for over 2 years and is currently in remission. He is kind, considerate and compassionate. I was his school counselor for over 6 years - he is one of the most amazing young men I have had the privilege to know. I ride for Emma Valdez who is a sweet second grader who is fighting her battle against cancer, and I ride for Jameson Kessel, the son of a friend, fighting his battle.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Diana
