Things are a little different this year. For one - I'm tackling this without a Giardia infection! Can't begin to describe that kind of fun - especially discovering something is "off" 12 miles into a 24 mile ride.

Ok, TMI... However, Public/National funding for important causes (including food safety..) are still being carelessly slashed by people we've elected to look out for everyone. While I'm raising funds for this special effort, I know that great causes need our help everywhere.

If you want to help this drive I am grateful. Over the past rides, many of you have helped me raise $8000 towards cures for childhood cancers. But If you're helping another cause you still have my deep gratitude - it's proof we're holding fast to our humanity.

My drive is for all the kids whose playgrounds were taken and replaced with hospital halls. The eventual victory over childhood cancers means winning the battle for everyone. Mile by mile, dollar by dollar, we hope to return every kid to their childhood.

And many of the other causes will help ensure these child survivors will have a better world to grow in.

Just help who you want and when you can. In the end, taking care of us is always up to us.
