My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

While I have not been personally touched by a child I know with cancer, I have lost many to the disease including my mother who died of pancreatic cancer in 2015 and a friend who died way too young of cervical cancer in 2019. My girlfriend beat breast cancer in 2020 but will have surgery this fall to prevent the spread of more. Currently a college classmate of mine is battling his third brain tumor over the last 20 years. He has been in Hospice care since April and nobody knows how much longer he will be with us.

I ride for them and the fact that kids and cancer should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
