My Story
This September, I am taking on the Great Cycle Challenge with a goal of riding 500 miles and raising $500 to help fight childhood cancer.
Those 500 miles will include training rides throughout the month and the 112-mile bike portion of Ironman Wisconsin. To make the challenge even bigger, for every dollar donated beyond my $500 fundraising goal, I will ride one additional mile beyond my original 500-mile commitment.
It will be a demanding month, but every difficult mile is small compared with what children and families facing cancer endure every day.
Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States. Kids should be spending their time learning, playing, and dreaming about their futures—not fighting for their lives.
The money raised through this challenge will support Children’s Cancer Research Fund and its work to develop safer, more effective treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
