I'm Riding For
Kids’ Cancer Research
My Story
This September, I am again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
We've had our challenges this year. On March 6, Suzanne suffered a significant hemorrhagic stroke that affected her right side. Fortunately, through extensive in-hospital and out-patient rehab, Suzanne has regained her ability to walk and use her right arm/hand. Memory is pretty good and, though she lost her vision right side/down low, we are hoping she can soon resume driving. She has worked very hard and is returning to her old self.
It's not yet September and almost $800 had been donated on behalf of my ride. Thank you all who have so generously given to this cause. We are rocking and rolling.
Mahalo, danke schön, muchas gracias, obrigado, merci beaucoup, arigato gozaimasu, kamsahamnida... thank you, Jim
