This will be my fourth year, so apparently, it's become a tradition to take part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer during the month of September! This year, as I ride in memory of my sisters Peggy, Lynn, and Sue, and my father-in-law Dick who was an avid biker into his 90s, I am also riding for a 4-year-old boy named Maverick who is battling cancer and improving!

I am riding and raising funds because I have witnessed what cancer and treatments do to a person's body and the stresses it places on the whole family. At a minimum, it steals portions of people' lives. Kids should be playing, going to school, and fighting with their siblings not going to doctor appointments and hospitals for treatments, and fighting for their lives.

The funds raised will allow researchers working for the Children's Cancer Research Fund to continue their work developing lifesaving treatments and working to find a cure for childhood cancers.
