Timmy Delg

Timmy was a boy in my grade school who got stomach cancer and eventually lost his life. I remember Timmy being in remission then riding his skateboard down our town hill which was crazy dangerous. I guess when he was staring down cancer a skateboard wreck was nothing to fear. Timmy had a not very awesome wig he wore when he lost his hair but not one of my classmates ever teased. I have visited Timmy's grave before my high school, college graduations and my wedding because he is buried close to my childhood home. This picture is of me. The world lost Timmy so many years ago I did not have a picture, only a solid memory.

My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
