I'm Riding For
Nolan
My Story
This September, I am riding 300 miles in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise money to go to help fight kids cancer.
Unfortunately, we all likely know or knew someone with cancer and have a personal connection to it. For me, this is coming on the 10 year anniversary of the passing of my good friend’s son, Nolan, who passed away from his battle with cancer when he was just a year and half old. I am riding for Nolan and for the Drain family, and for families like them that have had to deal with this tragedy.
For this cause, I am actually hoping to raise $1,000 ($500 from me and $500 from my girlfriend and riding partner Christine Rudert -who is also doing the challenge) and we are EACH going to ride a total of 1,000 miles total for August, September and wrap up in October to show how committed we are to help achieve that goal! We are just wrapping up August and reached our ⅓ mark of over 300 miles already riden. 1,000 miles is a lot but we wanted to do our part of showing our commitment to this and not just ask others to do so. For a little perspective: 1,000 miles would take us from Michigan to New Orleans! It’s equal to nearly a week and half of riding (~60+ hours) and averages out to just over 11 miles being ridden each day for 90 days.
For us, we wanted to show we are committed and willing to ride a mile for each $1 that was donated!
Raising funds through this challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
