I'm Riding For
Debra Jean Winger & Kourageous Kadi
This will be my 2nd year riding in the great cycle challenge. Did you know that only 3.8% of cancer funding goes to children’s cancer research? For 13 year old Kadi that’s a really big deal. You see, 3 years ago she was diagnosed with Chrondoblastic Osteosarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. Because there isn’t enough funding for childhood cancer as a whole let alone for Osteosarcoma, there has been no new, viable discoveries in treatment in 4 decades! That’s why this year, in addition to riding in memory of my mom, I am also riding in honor of Kadi! Kadi is a two-time warrior thus far and is an amazing young woman. Although she is currently in remission, Kadi faces the threat of her cancer returning as there is currently no cure. She also has undergone treatment with medications that were meant for adults that have wreaked havoc on her organs. Kids like Kadi need our help. Would you please consider supporting me in my journey to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Research fund?
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
