I'm Riding For
Wyatt White

5 years. We had 5 years to love and enjoy our sweet Wyatt. He loved big and he always thought of others before himself. The first day I went up to see him in the hospital I was also there to pick up Aunt Diane from a procedure she was having. He kept telling me I needed to get her home, but not to drive too fast or I’d freak her out and make her throw up. He wanted to take care of everyone else and even on his worst days, if you asked him to do something, he would tell you, “I’ll try.” Before he got sick, Wyatt was a typical, happy boy. He had the most infectious laugh and always had the biggest smile and sweet little dimples. He was like a tornado whenever he walked into my house, but he loved running upstairs to see what my kids were doing. He loved playing with kids, especially his cousins and he looked forward to starting school, but only got to experience one day. If you knew Wyatt, you know he was smart as a whip, with no filter, and some of the things that came out of his mouth would surprise you. I loved that about him. He let you know exactly what he thought, even if he needed to throw in a cuss word here and there! He loved everyone and never met a stranger. That was Wyatt. He loved people. He loved his family. He just loved life. He had so many things left to experience in life, but now he will live on through his family and friends. I will miss him dearly and promised him before he passed that I would continue to run races and cycle in his honor. Even on the days I’m struggling, I will think of Wyatt and tell myself “I’ll try” because that’s exactly what he would do. 5 years was not nearly enough and as he once said and would surely say again, “This is bullshit!”
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
