I'm Riding For
All children fighting cancer and my father and paternal grandmother who battled cancer.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” ~Matthew 19:14 While this fundraiser focuses on the CCRF, my tribute is for those children who battled cancer and lost and all those who continue to fight. Initial thoughts go to my youngest daughter's friend, who, with her parents' faith and love, an amazing group of doctors and nurses, and endless support from family and friends, is a SURVIVOR of acute myeloid leukemia and is now a healthy college junior. My final thoughts are with my dad who lost his 10-month battle with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on May 27th, 2009. For the month of September, I'll do my best to complete those miles and remember in prayer all those who have lost their battles, all those who won, and all those who continue to fight cancer...ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN. This year my mileage goal is 350 miles and my financial goal to $2,000. Will you help me reach my financial goal?
My Story
This September, for the 10th year in a row, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Great Cycle Challenge started in 2015, and after just 10 years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in the United States. In 10 years, our community of riders from all 50 states has ridden a total of 33,817,103 miles, and together we’ve raised $72,646.876 in support of research to develop better treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. Although I did not participate in 2015, over the past 10 years, I have ridden 3,154 miles, and with the help of family, friends, and neighbors, I have raised $28,818.70 for the Children's Cancer Research Fund. This year, my mileage goal is 350 miles, and my financial goal is $2,000 to reach and surpass $30,000 raised over the 10 years I've been a participant. Will you help me reach my financial goal? I'll take care of the miles and my own donation on Match Day, to be announced.
Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Children should be living life, not fighting for it.
Therefore, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these children and support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you and God Bless!

64 miles ridden this weekend
22 Sep 2025This year marks my 10th ride in the nationwide Great Cycle Challenge—a commitment I make each year to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. I set my mileage and financial goals, but reaching them is only possible with the help of donors and sponsors like you.
Why do I ride? Because this fight is personal. My youngest daughter’s kindergarten best friend—whose mom quickly became one of my dearest friends—was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at just 6 years old. At the time, my family was still grieving the loss of my dad to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, so the pain of cancer was already close to home. Watching that little girl endure months of chemotherapy, and watching her mother’s strength and love carry her through, left a mark on me that has never faded.
That was nearly a decade ago. Today, I’m grateful to say my daughter’s friend is a healthy college junior. But far too many children don’t get that chance. Every year, thousands of young lives are cut short by cancer. Families are left with empty seats at the table, and memories instead of milestones.
This is why I ride. And this is why I’m asking—please, if you’re able, make a donation. Your support funds critical research that gives kids a fighting chance at life. Together, we can push back against this cruel disease and bring hope where it’s needed most.
Donate today. Ride with me in spirit. Help save lives.
