Sophie Beam

This year I'm excited to ride in honor of Sophie. She is an amazingly brave young lady. Sophie is no stranger to being a strong warrior. She's gone through 7 cardiac and spine surgeries to get where she is today. At 16, Sophie was getting a follow-up for scoliosis, when her doctor found 2 tumors in her spinal cord. Her diagnosis is pilocytic astrocytomas. These tumors need intervention because of their rare location in her spine. They are inoperable because of the location. Sophie just started chemo in August 2025. Her positive spirit and smile ae special to all who know her. She loves her friends, family and a little dog, Alfie. Her mother commented, "Sophie has really struggled emotionally since her biopsy, but it's nice to know we are not alone in our fight against those tumors". My Story

This September, will be my seventh year in taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Last year with your support, together we raised over $3,600. I believe we can raise $4,500! Over the last six years, we have raised over $26,000. Let's make it over $30,000. Thank you for "riding" with me!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
