Liliana, my forever inspiration these 6 years!

Liliana, my forever inspiration these 6 years!

This is Lily at age 4. She's age 8 soon, and she's still fighting. S0 cute...and brave. Please help me help her and the (too) many little kids who need us, by supporting my ride with either a donation, or a share on Facebook or other social media, or just ask one or two friends to consider a good deed today. My Story

7 Sep 2026

[please scroll down for more or for updates]

First, I know this is a late start, but was unsure if I could ride after a bad sciatica attack. Yup, the body is acting up, BUT…slow improvement since June. So I’m trying again, though with modest mileage goals. I still need YOU to fight kids’ cancer…and kids with cancer need YOU too.

In September I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge (GCC) to fight kids' cancer! ...my 6th year riding for Liliana, soon to be age 9!...and still fighting! See her age 4 picture on this page.

Why ride and help? Because right now, cancer is still the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

* Funds raised will help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work for needed lifesaving treatments will continue to accelerate the hoped for breakthroughs.

* History: Since 2021, our annual goals have increased and been annually CRUSHED. I've been forever amazed at the generous support from all of you! Please support my rides by making a donation (see note 2) to help give these kids the brighter futures they deserve ...and THANK YOU to all for reading this!

Your support will save little lives.

Updates: A couple of reminders:

1. DONATIONS now DO count; please know ANY support, ANY time helps these little kids fighting cancer. THANKS.

2. BUT…IF you're following me CLOSELY, then note that Wednesday, Sept 9th, GCC will offer MATCH DAY: when a national group MATCHes all donations that day ONLY...and I'll match the 1st $500 we receive ... So IF you ARE following me CLOSELY, that's the best day to TRIPLE your help. Again, THANKS all for caring. We WILL save little lives.

  • What's a blog? Different from a note or a post? Thoughts?
    7 Sep 2026

9-7-26 These are my thoughts, maybe a diary, or a blog!

Today, just returned from 5th ride in 7 days; that's a good start to me. Any weaknesses? You bet; mostly a sore butt (still breaking in the seat 😅). Next thought:

Then I try to imagine what a little kid feels after a number of operations and/or rounds of chemo to help her or his body recover.

I've learned that most treatments were developed for adults and don't work for kids... so research on children is still badly needed. We will fund the best researchers in the USA.

Yes, the behind hurts a bit, but that won't stop me...the kids fighting cancer are the inspiration to keep on peddling. So this is a great big THANKS for your day-one and sustained support of this effort. I, and the kids, and their parents...Thank YOU! [Today, your donation will be TRIPLED!]. Love you back, Paul.”
