My Story

19 Sep 2025

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

Ric

“Hi Adorable Little Sister, Love that you and Scott still put up with me. Heck, knowing Scott the accountant, I bet he has me down as a budget item for September. If so, tell him thanks. Seriously, as I’ve made it this far in my life, it’s the least I can do. Thanks for helping me raise support for these kids.”

“Dear Dan and Margy, Your generous donation means so much to me. These last weeks have been slow donation-wise. Seeing your gift is a real shot boost. I have 95 miles left to ride between now and Tuesday. You two are a real shot in the arm…and more importantly, the legs. I thank you, the kids thank you. Ric”

“Wow Mark. Thanks for your generous and thoughtful donation. Not sure how much longer I’ll be in the saddle but seeing your gift really gives me encouragement. With all the cutbacks in childhood cancer funding and the removal of funds for mRNA vaccines, we are trying to fill the gap. Thanks for all the support.”

I say this because I first met you teaching that session back in Mountain View. Your support means a great deal. Thank you. Ric”

“Hi Veronique, What a nice surprise to see your generous donation and from way over in Belgium. The country who gave us Eddy Merckx and recently Remco Evenepoel. And let’s not forget the lovable Wout. He was something to see winning the final stage of this year’s Tour de France. As you might guess, cycling is something of a passion with me. Thanks for supporting my other passion, fighting childhood cancer. Peace and Love, Ric. PS, can you let me know you received this message? Try Messenger or WhatsApp. Thanks”
