My Story

This September will be my sixth year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge.

Why do I ride? Because I lost my sister Laura to Breast cancer back in 1991. In 2023 I lost my wife Sharon and my brother-in-law Neal. Both passed a couple months apart from cholangiocarcinoma a very aggressive cancer. Today cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

    This morning I hit my goal of riding 200 miles this month for the great cycle challenge! It’s for such a great cause!!! We rode for all the kids who currently have some form of cancer and for their families who can only comfort and support their child. Many of the riders including myself have lost family members due to cancer! Stay tuned for next September…. “I will be back!”
