Haddie
Meet Haddie, the Superhero I am riding for again this year! She's kicking cancer's butt one day at a time! She's 15 months into her fight against Leukemia, and now in the maintenance stage of chemotherapy until Fall of 2026. She's doing great, and has been cleared to start kindergarten this fall.
My Story
Hey friends! September marks my 6th year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to help beat kids’ cancer. Thanks to your amazing support over the past five years, we've raised $12,300 and I’ve pedaled more than 2,600 miles—together we’re making a real impact!
This year, I’m riding 300 miles in honor of 5-year-old Haddie Honeycutt, the brave daughter of my coworker Shelby. In May 2024, Haddie was diagnosed with Pre-B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After a tough start—including emergency transfusions and chemo—she’s shown superhero strength, and now there is no cancer in her blood or bone marrow. Her battle isn’t over, but her spirit inspires us all. Haddie is now undergoing maintenance chemotherapy to keep the cancer away, and this phase of treatment lasts until Fall 2026.
Kids should be living life—not fighting for it.
Every mile I ride and every dollar we raise helps the Children’s Cancer Research Fund develop better treatments (and hopefully cures!) for these courageous kids and families. My goal this year is to break 3,000 miles ridden and hit $15,000 raised—and I need your help!
