I'm Riding For
Ron Johnson (Father)

🚴♂️ Why I Ride: A Personal Challenge Turned Lifelong Mission Nine years ago, a friend challenged me to join the Great Cycle Challenge—and I accepted. What began as a simple dare has since transformed my life and deepened my commitment to fighting childhood cancer. Last year, my father was diagnosed with cancer. When it hits home, the reality of this disease becomes even more painful. It’s a reminder that cancer doesn’t discriminate—and no one should have to live fighting it. This year, I’m dedicating my ride to my dad and to every child battling this life-threatening illness. These kids deserve the freedom to play, laugh, and live fully—just as we enjoy the freedom to pedal. 💪 Join Me. Ride With Me. Make a Difference. If you have a bike—or have ever thought about getting one—this is your moment. Become part of a movement of everyday heroes who are changing lives one mile at a time. 👉 Click here to join or donate to my ride: https://greatcyclechallenge.com/Riders/ScottJohnson. I promise you won’t regret it. Let’s ride for hope, for healing, and for every child who deserves a future. #GCCUSA
My Story
I am so very proud to have hit the 9th year milestone and 6th year as a GCC Champion in supporting the Great Cycle Challenge to fight childhood cancer. The reward of knowing that I have given hope of a brighter future for these boys and girls is a dream come true.
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from this disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
We have created a Team this year called Pedal for Hope. If you're interested in joining this amazing movement, please finds us on "join a team".
Your support will change little lives in a large way.
Thank you.
