I'm Riding For
Thomas Rouse
This year I am riding in honor of all of the kids in the fight and for my dear friend, Thomas Rouse. He was diagnosed in April 2024 with angiosarcoma, a very rare form of cancer. Since his diagnosis, he has undergone multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. He continues to fight courageously, and I am proud to ride in honor of the kids and him.
My Story
I am excited to ride again in the Great Cycle Challenge! This is my seventh year participating, and this year I will attempt my highest GCC mileage goal...475 miles! Thank you to all who have supported me over the years! Together we have raised $20,782.42 and ridden 2,373.8 miles! I'm excited to see what we achieve in 2025!
Cancer has impacted many of my friends and family and is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
Funds raised through my challenge support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

13 Sep 2025I had a good ride this morning! David, Ken, Lynn and I rode a shorter ride and got in another 21 miles. Windy Gale showed up again and brought her friend, Chilly, along. 🥶 💨 A busy Saturday schedule may have shortened my ride, but I was happy to get in some miles! Every mile and donation matters! 🚴♀️🙌❤️ I’m over halfway with my mileage goal! Keep the prayers coming! 🙏🙌🚴♀️❤️

11 Sep 2025Today was another great ride! Ron, Lou, Lynn and I rode with Windy Gale and Misty again today. I was so hoping the last two wouldn’t show up again today! 😑💨💦 We didn’t let their presence deter us though. We got in another 30 miles today! 🙌🚴♀️
I am so thankful for all of the support and encouragement that all of the Big Wheel Cyclists have given me! I am most blessed to have such good friends! 🙌🤗🚴♀️❤️
Tomorrow is a rest day, but I plan to be back on the bike Saturday. 🙏😊🚴♀️

I am so very thankful for and humbled by the outpouring of support you have shown to me! I couldn’t do this without all of you! 🙌 🤗 Since I’ve hardly ridden this year leading up to the GCC, I was a bit concerned that I had been overzealous in my mileage and fundraising goals, but with your support and encouragement, I have exceeded my fundraising goal and still have a couple of weeks left to go! Yes, donations are still accepted until the end of the Challenge. 🤗❤️🙌

Ride #8 - Kicking Cancer’s Butt Day! 🚴♀️
10 Sep 2025Some of the Big Wheels and I had a group ride this morning. Like yesterday’s ride, Windy Gale showed up again and brought Misty with her. 💨 💦 Thankfully Misty didn’t last too long on the ride, but Windy Gale made the whole ride. 💨💨
I am so thankful for this great group of friends who support me each year in my Challenge! I couldn’t do it without their help and support! We had three cancer survivors on our ride today—Lynn, Isaac, and Bob. 🙌🚴♀️
