• Keep fighting
    26 Sep 2025

Many of us think we are donating to a cause that doesn't really affect us or our community. But as I was reminded by emails and facebook posts regarding a high school student in my area,

this diagnosis happens in every community. We are fighting for our children's lives and all children's lives. Because they deserve it and they need us.

  • How do they do it?

Moving through September, trying to get my miles in while balancing work, family, friends, and mundane things like laundry and dishes, grocery shopping, housework, yardwork, is there no end to this list?!

Ok, back to what I started to say...

Families whose children have a cancer diagnosis also have all those demands on their time with the added stress of a severely ill child, doctor appointments, hospital stays, and financial worries. How do they manage? I couldn't get my miles and donations in the way I do without the help of my friends and family, encouraging me and supporting my efforts, and I am sure community, family and friends go a long way in helping families get through this. I am proud to be part of that community. Thank you very much for joining me.

September approached, and I watched the amount of daylight dwindle every day by a minute or 2 minutes and then saw that september loses seventy minutes of daylight in the State of Ohio.

I was a little stressed by the thought that it's not as easy to get my miles in when it's dark. Then, I reminded myself that it's not easy for children going through cancer treatment. And if they can do that, I can get my miles in to honor them.

Yesterday I went for a ride. I started the day a little grumpy. A little down, because it was raining. My day started later than I had planned. I wasn't gonna get in the miles I had hoped for. But then my thoughts turned to the children and their families once again. The plans these families had definitely were disrupted when their children got a diagnosis of cancer, and if they can keep going with that, I can keep going with my miles. This is why we ride

  • Good morning!
    3 Sep 2025

As many of you know, I used to ride to work regularly. I could grab a few extra miles each way. Today will be my first time riding to my current job, and I am hoping it goes well! The bonus of riding to my last job was the fact that I knew everyone and everyone knew I rode my bike. At this job I know very few people and i'm hoping no one is judging me today, lol.

I hope you all have a lovely stress-free day.

Because I haven't taken the ride yet, I have no picture to attach, so i'm giving you a cute baby elephant that I saw last weekend.

    Good morning!
