This 11th year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge, I'm filled with gratitude and determination. Each pedal stroke not only fuels my passion for cycling but also my commitment to fundraising for the Children's Cancer Research Fund. This cause is deeply personal for me, inspired by a very special journey that began when a close friend’s son was diagnosed with cancer 11 years ago.
Our story started with the formation of a team called WC4, dedicated to riding in the inaugural year of the Great Cycle Challenge. Our collective effort was driven by hope for a better tomorrow, and miraculously, my friend’s son recovered and is thriving today. His successful battle against cancer is a reminder of why I ride each year: to see more kids conquer this disease and experience the joys of life unburdened by illness.
The image accompanying this post—a collection of cards displaying messages like "Happy Birthday!!!" and "Let's Ride!"—symbolizes the community and encouragement behind this cause. These names remind us of people impacted by childhood cancer. Together, we’re working toward ensuring that kids will spend more time on their bikes, exploring the world, instead of fighting cancer.
Through the Great Cycle Challenge, we are funding crucial research designed to advance treatments and offer hope to children and families affected by cancer. By riding and fundraising, we contribute to this mission, making a meaningful impact.
I invite you to join me in this ride for hope. Whether you contribute as a donor or spread the word, your involvement helps us inch closer to a world where kids can truly enjoy their childhoods. Let’s pedal with purpose and make every mile count for those fighting cancer and for those we've lost.
Thank you for the ongoing support and encouragement. Let’s continue to ride forward together, one mile at a time, until all children can ride their bikes carefree.
Join us in the Great Cycle Challenge so more kids can ride bikes and enjoy life!
