In addition to my first reason to join this cause, Brian Forbes, this year, I've decided to join my first team with the Great Cycle Challenge, Team Lila!
Lila celebrated her 15th birthday, Saturday, Aug 2nd! However, this celebration follows with a heavy burden. Lila and her family are going through the toughest time of their lives. Lila is currently fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In addition to this, she suffered a stroke before she was born, is non-verbal, fed through a g-tube, and has also been diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, dystonia, and scoliosis. Lila has been fighter her whole life.
She's currently undergoing immunotherapy treatment, but no words can explain how much we wish we could take the pain away from her and her family. Right now, Lila needs us more than ever.
So today, I am asking YOU to please help us give Lila a reason to smile. Show Lila and her family that they are not alone on their cancer journey and that we're fighting for them.
