Just completed my riding goal for this year’s challenge. Our 12.8 mile ride today put me over 100 miles for September. It was a gorgeous day; 83 degrees and a light breeze. I’m savoring these last summer like days; great for riding and getting outside.
Thanks to everyone who donated to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. You were all with me in spirit as I rode.

The weather was so nice today that I had to get out of the studio and take a ride. I prefer riding on a trail but I took off from home today and rode what I call the Shippensburg loop. Traffic was busier than I expected and some of the drivers didn’t give me much space. It’s a little scary at times. But the scenery is beautiful this time of year and it felt good to get in some cardio.

Having a rest day at home today after our long drive home and unpacking. It’s supposed to be a nice week and so I’ll try to get a few more miles on two wheels.
I’ll be sending out requests for donations on Wednesday because any donations that day are matched!
I look forward to receiving donations for team Joestrong. Cancer sucks! Let’s do what we can to beat it.
We were blessed with beautiful weather today as we rode from DeWitt to Chittenango. A slightly shorter ride than the last two days but with a nice visit to the Chittenango Dry Dock museum that shared so much history and an actual life sized canal boat that you could go into and get a feel for how the canalers lived.
My legs (and butt) were feeling it today. But worth it for the nice ride and canal scenery.
From Dewitt to Dewitt
Charlie and I are bicycling 3 sections of the Erie Canal. Yesterday, we rode out and back from Lockport which has some interesting canal history and a Discovery Center. The lock there used to have Five tiers It now has three. You ride along the canal the entire time and the scenery was beautiful with lots of farmland .
Today we started our ride near Rochester. We rode 26 miles along the canal and got rained on for the last 6 miles. It was also a scenic ride although it was more through suburbs and towns.
We are now heading towards Syracuse and will ride there tomorrow.
