After listening to online church and running some errands, took another spin down to Ashland. Had to explore around town a bit since we will be taking a bike mechanics class at UBI there this week. Met a cyclist named Pedro along the way. His limited English and my very limited Spanish skills resulted in a short discussion. I stopped in on a little league game on the way back. They must take baseball pretty serious around here to be playing it in September. Incredibly nice field for the kids to play on.
Looking at our GCC stats, we are doing great vs my initial goals for this year. We’ve already exceeding my funding goal and I’m nearing completion of the mileage goal. I didn’t know what to expect with our trip. So, kudos to all of you generous folks. Thank you so much for your support. Hopefully some kids that may have cancer can have it cured so that they too can play baseball…..or whatever activity they love to do.
Traveled from the Redwoods up to Medford OR today. After getting some maintenance done on the truck, I finally got in a ride. The paved trail between Medford and Ashland is wonderfully smooth for road bike riding. We miss the ocean but the temps here are much warmer. Nice.
I just raised $500 to fight kids' cancer and achieved GUARDIAN LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
I just raised $250 to fight kids' cancer and achieved PROTECTOR LEVEL in the challenge! Thank you so much for your support.
Rode one last ride from Bullard’s Beach yesterday before we broke camp to head to the redwoods. Ride on both sides of the Coquille River. Foggy morning. Bad fog! Cleared up last 5 miles though.
Wow! We rode thru the redwoods today. Words cannot express how awesome they are. HUGE!
