Got to work and had 3 miles left to reach my goal. No problem. 9 mile commute home, so easy. Until…..
As I was rolling my bike out the door I spotted a rip in the tread of the front tire. Hmm. But I could make it home. Nope. Got 2/3 of a mile and the tire let go. No patching that unless I had some dollar bills to line the inside of the tire (old trick but I didn’t have any cash).
Got some very appreciated help from Floyd Kezele got me a ride home.
Not feeling like fighting with the road bike into hopped on my mountain bike and got the miles I needed.
So 200 miles plus a smidge. Not anywhere near the 1100 I did a few years ago.
Thank you to everyone that donated to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund through this event. You are all awesome.
