My Story

20 Aug 2026

This September marks my 6th consecutive year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge — and this one hits differently.

I’m writing this as someone in remission after stem cell treatment, and as a brother who lost his younger brother to cancer almost a decade ago. Cancer has shaped my life in ways I carry every day, and every mile I ride is for the kids and families still in the middle of that fight.

After almost a year off the bike while I focused on my own health, I’m hoping to get back in the saddle to support and encourage these little ones and their families — and I’ve signed up to ride 100 miles this September to mark the comeback.

The Great Cycle Challenge raises money for paediatric cancer research — funding that goes directly toward better treatments and more birthdays for young patients. I’ve seen both sides of this disease: survival and loss. That’s exactly why I keep showing up, year after year.

I’m asking for your support — whether that’s a donation, a share, or just a word of encouragement to keep me pedalling through the miles ahead. Every bit helps move us closer to a world where fewer families have to go through what mine did.

Thank you for riding alongside me, even from the sidelines. 🚴‍♂️💛
