• University Hospitals - Rainbow Babies & Children September 20th Community Ride
    3 Mar 2025

    Dear Friends & Supporters:

This September, team Sean Strother Family & Friends is participating in the Great Cycle Challenge (GCC) USA to fight kids’ cancer. In August 2019, our family received the unimaginable news that our 37-year-old son and father was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rare brain cancer with a poor prognosis. Sean faced four brain surgeries, chemo, radiation, and an immunotherapy clinical trial. While undergoing treatment, Sean was invited by Cody Dean, a colleague from BMC Software, Inc., to join their GCC team. He joined the team without hesitation, rode 500 miles, and raised $14,000. Sean passed away 1,025 days after his diagnosis, but his desire to help children facing cancer lives on.

We are pleased to announce that University Hospitals- Rainbow Babies & Children Hospital will host a special community ride on:

    Day & Date: Saturday, September 20, 2025

Location: University Hospitals of Cleveland – Lakeside lawn

    2065 Adelbert Road

    Time: 9:00 AM Arrival

    Roll-out: 10:00 AM

Updates will be posted as we finalize the details.

Why? One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive. And for those who do, the battle is never over.

Children should be living life, not fighting for it.

So, we are raising funds and awareness through our challenge to help these kids and support the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, which allows them to continue their work to support the innovative and promising research that will one day cure childhood cancer.

Together, we can ride with hope in Sean’s memory and in honor of children affected by cancer while fueling best-in-class research to improve treatments, quality of life, and outcomes. But we can’t do it without you. Join us in making a difference by making a gift in any amount.

    Thank you for being here.

    Warmest regards,

    Janet, Sean’s mom
