UPDATE:

We're in the home stretch and I've cruised through my my mileage goal of 400.

Heck, I think I'll give it a go for 500.

However, I'm still just a bit shy of my fundraising goal of $3500. I'm hopeful some more generous sponsors will help me get to that finish line.

I'm celebrating my September 21 birthday with a gratitude ride to chip away at my monthly 400 mile goal to help raise funds to fight childhood cancer. The weather forecast is perfect and I look forward to a mood boosting few hours and ignoring that I'm now 69 years old.

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
