This September, I am once again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

This year I am riding in honor of my brave husband, Dale. Dale was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer last August. I watched him go through something no-one should have to go through. He is the strongest person I know and I'm pleased to say that today, he is cancer free, something I wish for everyone fighting cancer. While we spent time at the Miami Cancer Institute, we saw too many children there, fighting for their lives. My heart broke for each and everyone of these brave children.

I participate in this challenge every year because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

I have not been able to ride for the past year due to injuries, but I'm anxious to get back in the saddle again this year and continue to help make a difference in children's lives.
