I'm Riding For

Mary and Zachary

Since I started riding for a cure two years ago, things have changed for my two beloved inspirations — my sister-in-law, Mary, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer last November and my spunky little neighbor, Zachary, is cancer free and is happily living his little boy life. I am riding this year to celebrate the memory of Mary’s incredible life and with joy for Zachary’s chance to blossom into the wonderful human being he has the chance to be.

My Story

18 Aug 2025

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

September 12, 2024. addendum: I just returned from a delightful 11mile evening ride and wanted to share some of what I was feeling as I rolled along. I realized that I am always conscious of the fact that there are many, many people who would love to do what I’m doing but can’t because of their struggle with cancer. My sister-in-law, Mary who rode bikes (and horses) until pancreatic cancer found her and ended her life rides with me in my heart. My young friend, Zachary, spent 2 years of his young life in hospitals and having treatments for his childhood cancer. His story is happy though, and he is cancer free and living a lively, joyful life thanks to advances in treatments for his particular cancer which donations through the cycle challenge help fund. And that is why I will do this as long as I am able and be grateful for the opportunity to do a small part to help, along with my wonderful sponsers — that’s you!
