This September, I am once again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer.

Why? Because cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 kids are diagnosed every year, and tragically, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

This year’s ride carries an even deeper meaning for me. Earlier this year, my grandpa, William “Bill” Hind, passed away from complications caused by cancer. He lived a long, full, and amazing life—but even then, it was heartbreaking to see him suffer. No child should ever have to endure that kind of pain.

So I am riding and raising funds in honor of my grandpa, and for all the kids who deserve brighter, healthier futures. Every dollar raised will support the Children’s Cancer Research Fund to help develop lifesaving treatments and bring us closer to a cure.
